Ooh, a new lens
Well i have acquired myself a new lens which allows me a wider aperture, so thought i'd give it a whirl and take some test shoots experimenting with a shallow depth of field. Whilst the images might not be overly exciting, i am thinking of different ways i might be able to produce some interesting images of cars by perhaps focusing on particular details for a couple of the shots.
I am also thinking of taking some wider angle shots but could really do with it stopping raining! I am planning on practicing with some long exposures at night using a flash gun to illuminate different aspects of the car or background, but am still searching for some good locations and waiting for some slightly drier weather to go experimenting. When will this rain end?

Shallow depth of field. . . laura will be proud! I think close up stuff would be good, distort the car a bit so people aren't quite sure what they are looking at.
ReplyDeleteP.s. I fed your fish, thought i best tell you, cos if you feed them too much they will get fat and die.
Although you hate the rain, all those droplets look good close up - can you get reflections in them? This may be heretical but the paint's surface is so glossy I'd be tempted to try some coloured liquids on it and get something really abstract.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Are you blogging in some alien timezone.......or did you post this invisibly while Calvin was talking?
Ha i did think of laura actually! interesting idea of distortion.
ReplyDeleteRach, do you mean really close up reflections in the droplets? hmmm
I dont know whats going on with the timing on here, i think it may be set to American time or something?
ah ha sorted. i was on pacific time?? no idea why thats the default but its ok now.
ReplyDeleteI saw close ups and got all excited!!!
ReplyDeleteI like what you are doing and think that the idea of using the coloured liquids could work well and be something quite interesting!
